Guide Create a Wearable Cat Costume
1Make a tail. This tail will dangle behind you and fit round your waist. If you do it right, it won't fall down or leak.
Get your long elastic ribbon and sew it up in a slightly smaller loop than the size of your waist. Before sewing, test it by holding together the ends, putting it on and seeing how it fits best (tight around your stomach, but not restricting breathing).
Using your fake fur, cut off two 2.5cm wide (~1 inch) long rectangles that are rounded at one end.
Simply sew the rectangles together leaving the sharp not rounded side open. Make sure that it is inside out (furry sides together) when sewing.
Turn it the right way out and stuff it with the pillow stuffing.
Sew up the open end.
Sew that to the elastic waistband.
2Make ears.
With your fake fur cut four triangles about 8 centimetres high. (~3.1 inches). Make sure that it is inside out (furry sides together) when sewing.
Sew up two of three sides on each.
Turn the right way out, and stuff with a little pillow stuffing. Sew the last edge together.
Get two hair clips and glue. Glue one edge of each triangle to the top of each clip.
3Create paw feet.
Cut four paw shapes in your orange felt. They must be big enough to fit over the slippers if sewn together over them.
Place two over the slippers and mark where the foot holes are. Cut these out (on the felt) with fabric scissors.
Place the uncut paws underneath the slippers and the cut above. With your needle and thread, sew them together around the slippers. You now have some cat feet!
4Pick your general clothing. Put on stripy orange and red or tiger leggings. Orange or reddish brown half length arm bands are a nice touch.
